Babiy Vitaliy Volodymyrovych was a senior archer of the 53rd individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a senior soldier.
He was born on 17 April, 1969 in the village Miropil, Dzerzhinsk (now - Romaniv) district, of Zhytomyr region. He graduated the high school (now - gymnasiums) village of urban type Miropil.
He passed the regular military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR.
On 26 January, 2015, the Baranovsk-Romaniv United District Military Commissariat mobilized him into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He passed the military training at the training center. He served as a senior rifleman of the 53rd individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit В0927, the city of Severodonetsk / Lisichansk, Luhansk region).
Since 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 13 November, 2015, the senior soldier Babiy died of a serious injury during a mortar shelling near the town Verkhnyotoretske, Yasinuvata district, Donetsk region.
On 18 November, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the urban settlement Miropil, Romaniv district, Zhytomyr region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (16.01.2016; posthumously).
On 24 August, 2016, a memorial plaque was established in the village Miropil on the building of the gymnasium (Central Street, 46), where Vitaliy Babiy studied.
