Berehovyy Serhiy Heorhiyovych was the shooter of the 30th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a senior soldier.
He was born September 25, 1976 in the city Kiev. He graduated the high school №144 of Kyiv (now Lyceum №144 named after Gregoriy Vaschenko).
In the winter of 2013-2014 he was on the Independence Square in Kyiv, where he was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity.
On 6 September, 2014, a volunteer was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served as an archer of the 30th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409 (field post in V2731), the city of Novograd-Volynsk, Zhytomyr region).
Since January 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Callsign"Bereh".
On 14 July, 2015, the senior soldier Berehovyy died during the mortar shelling of the key point №3014 near the town Luhans‘ke, Artemivsk (from 2016 - Bakhmutsky) district, Donetsk region, when a mine hit his cemetery. Along with him, soldier Anatoliy Kulynych died.
On 18 July, 2015, he was buried at the Sovskiy Cemetery in Kyiv.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III class (05.10.2015; posthumously).

In 2015, in Kiev, on the building ( Narodnogo opolchenya street, 6), where Serhiy Berehovyy lived, the memorial plaque was established.
