Bernatsky Andrey Evgenievich was the deputy of the commander of the Engineer Platoon 3rd battalion tactical groups of 93-th separate Guards Mechanized Brigade Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant Guard.
He was born on September 4, 1975 in Lviv. He graduated the secondary school №54 Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk State Technical University of Railway Transport (now - Vsevolod Lazaryan Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport) and the Economics Department of the Dnipropetrovsk National University (now - Oles Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University). He lived and worked in the city of Dnipropetrovsk.
In winter 2013-2014 he participated in the Revolution of dignity and an active participant in Dnepropetrovsk Euromaidan.
In the spring of 2014 voluntarily he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as deputy commander of the Engineer Platoon 3rd battalion tactical groups of 93-th separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1302, towns Cherkassy Novomoskovsk district of Dnepropetrovsk region).
Since June 2014 he took part in anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On October 16, 2014 unit, which operated as part of Lt. Bernatsky during reconnaissance on a combat mission near the village of Mikhailovka (consisting of Gorlovka Donetsk region) was ambushed by separatists. Lieutenant Bernatsky, protecting the comrades, he was killed by a sniper bullet hit the heart between the plates of body armor.
He was buried in the Alley of Glory Krasnopil‘skiy cemetery in the city of Dnipropetrovsk.
He was awarded the Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky III degree (17.7.2015, posthumously).
