Chomko Yaroslav Stepanovych was the senior resident of the Hospital Department of the 1st Specialized Medical Company named after Pirogov of the Northern Territorial Kyiv Department of the National Guard of Ukraine, junior lieutenant of the Medical Service of the Reserve.
He was born on 20 September, 1984 in the city Ivano-Frankivsk. He graduated the secondary school №23 of the city Ivano-Frankivsk, in 2009 - an internship of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University.
In the winter of 2013-2014 he was on the Independence Square in Kyiv, where he provided the medical assistance to the sick and injured members of the Revolution of Dignity.
From December, 2014 he had the military service in the 1st private medical company named after Pirogov of the Northern territorial Kiev department of the National Guard of Ukraine (military unit 3001, city of Kyiv).
From 6 January, 2015, he participated in an anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 12 January, 2015, the team of doctors of the 1st private medical company named after Pyrogov went to the area of fighting to evacuate the wounded. In the course of providing medical care to a wounded fighter, the junior lieutenant of the medical service of the reserve Chomko received three bullet wounds, resulting in which he died at the hospital in the city Artemivsk (now Bakhmut), Donetsk region.
On 16 January, 2015 he was buried in the cemetery of the village Krychivtsy Ivano-Frankivsk city council, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
In the city Ivano-Frankivsk on 27 May, 2015, on the facade of the building of the secondary school-Lyceum №23 (Mazepa street, 90) and on 14 October, 2015, on the facade of the main building of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University (Halytska St., 2), where Yaroslav Chomko studied, the memorial plaques were established.
Awarded the medal "For the Saved Life" (01.12.2015, posthumously).
