Filimonov Dmytro Yuriyovych was the Chief Sergeant - mortar commander of the 2nd Airborne assault battalion 95th separate airborne brigade of highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Junior sergeant.
He was born on 11 November, 1986 in the village Zalistsi, Dunaivtsi district, Khmelnitsky region. He graduated the secondary school of village Zalistsi and Higher professional school №26 in the village Balin, Dunaivtsi district, Khmelnitsky region.
He passed the military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
After the demobilization he returned to the village Zalistsi. He worked as a tractor driver at a local company.
In August 2014 he was mobilized the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as chief sergeant - commander of the 2nd mortar airborne assault battalion of the 95th separate airborne brigade of highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0281, city of Zhytomyr).
Since 2014 he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 9 July , 2015 Junior Sergeant Filimonov died as a result of mortar attack near Avdeevka, Donetsk region.
On 12 July 2015 he was buried in the cemetery of the village Zalistsi, Dunaivtsi district, Khmelnitsky region.
He was awarded "For Courage" III class (22.9.2015, posthumously).
Honorary Citizen Dunaivtsi area (2016, posthumously).

On 10 May, 2016 in the village Zalistsi on school building (street Anatolia Romanchuk, 5a), where Dmytro Filimonov studied, the memorial plaque was established.
