Halatyuk Oleh Mykolayovych was the scout of the intelligent platoon reconnaissance detachment of the 15th separate motorized infantry battalion of the 58th individual motorized infantry brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, junior sergeant.
He was born on 7 March, 1986 in the village Zavysheny, Sokal district, Lviv region. In 2003 he graduated the secondary school of the urban type Zhvirka, Sokal district.
In 2004-2005 he had the regular military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 80th separate airmobile regiment of the Airborne Forces of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (nowadays - 80th separate assault and assault brigade of the High-Military Allied Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; military unit A0284, the city Lviv).
In February 2015, he was mobilized into the Armed forces of Ukraine. He served as a reconnaissance detachment of the 15th separate motorized infantry battalion of the 58th individual motorized infantry brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (field post V2260).
Since 2015 he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On the night of 22 December, 2015, the junior sergeant Halatyuk exploded on a grenade near the village of Novobakhmutivka, Yasinuvata district, Donetsk region.
On 25 December, 2015 he was buried in the New Cemetery of the village of Zavysheny, Sokal District, Lviv region.
Honorary citizen of the Sokal district (13.10.2016; posthumously).
The mother, the wife, the daughter and the son from the first marriage are left.
On 14 October, 2016, a memorial plaque was established in the town Zhvirka on the building of the secondary school (Bohdan Khmelnytskiy street, 39) where Halatyuk Oleh studied.
