Haychenya Mykola Borysovych was the grenade engineer of the 3rd platoon of the 2nd Company of the 30th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Senior sergeant.
He was born on 8 October, 1978 in the city Olevsk, Zhytomyr region. He graduated the secondary school of Olevsk.
He passed the regular military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a grenade launcher of the 3rd platoon of the 2nd Company of the 30th Special Guard Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409 (field post of V2731), the city of Novograd-Volyn, Zhytomyr region).
Since 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He was the participant in fighting for the city Debaltsevo, Donetsk region.
On 18 February, 2015, Senior Sergeant Haychenya was killed during the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the city Debaltsevo near the village Logvinova, Artemivsk (now - Bakhmutsky), Donetsk region. Since then, it was considered to be missing.
He was buried, as an unknown soldier, at the Krasnopilsk Cemetery in the city of Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro). He was identified for the DNA testing.
On 30 January, 2016, he was reinstated on the cemetery of the city Olevsk, Zhytomyr region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (10.10.2015; posthumously).
Honorary citizen of the city of Olevsk (05/13/2016; posthumously).
