Horban‘ Andriy was the squad of 79th separate airborne brigade of highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Junior sergeant.
He was born on 24 January 24, 1993 in the village of Nikolaevka, Kazankivskyi district, Mykolayiv region. In 2010 he graduated the secondary school of Nikolaevka village. He studied at the Faculty of Physical Education of Mykolayiv National State University named after V.O.Suhomlynskiy.
In the years 2012-2013 he passed the military service in 79 separate airborne brigade of highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0224, Mykolaiv city). From 2013 he continued to contract military service as commander of the division 79th separate airborne brigade.
In the spring of 2014 he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He participated in the battles for Saur-Tomb of Ilovaysk, Donetsk airport.
On 28 November, 2014 he was one of three soldiers who set the state flag on the roof shooted by terrorists old terminal of Donetsk airport.
On 29 November, 2014, during one of the most massive assaults staged by militants and Russian special forces at the airport in Donetsk, Junior Sergeant Horban‘ covered dangerous direction and half an hour restrained the enemy. During the battle, soldier received two wounds. Comrades dragged badly wounded soldier under the barrage of fire. Followed almost immediately by the position of Junior Sergeant Horban‘ there was hit by the bomber. The blast dropped him from the third floor to the second, he was still alive, he was given first aid, evacuated to hospital. The next day, November 30, during surgery Horban‘ Andriy died, his heart broke down and stopped.
He was buried in the cemetery of the village Nikolaevka, Kazankivskyi district, Mykolayiv region.
He was awarded "For Courage" III class (12.4.2014, posthumously), honors "National Hero of Ukraine" (01.15.2016, posthumously).
On 5 June, 2015 in the village of Nikolaevka on the building of secondary school (street Revkomivska, 242), where the hero studied, the memorial plaque was opened.
