Horbenko Roman Vasyl‘ovych was the deputy commander of a combat vehicle - gunner-operator of the 30th separate Guard mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a soldier.
He was born on 1 March, 1974 in the village Stadnitsa, Tetyivsk district, Kyiv region. In 1991, he graduated the secondary school of the village Stadnitsa.
He passed the regular military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since 1995 he has served under the contract in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: first in the city Berdychiv, Zhytomyr region, then - in the city Rava-Ruska Zhovkva district, Lviv region.
After releasing to the reserve, he worked as the electrician at the alcoholic beverage plant, from 2012 - in the agricultural company with limited liability "Dibrivka agroservice", village Dibrivka, Tetyivsk district, Kyiv region.
In August 2014, he was mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as the deputy commander of a combat vehicle - gunner-operator of the 30th separate guards mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, the city Novograd-Volyn, Zhytomyr region).
In the autumn of 2014, participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He was the participant in fighting for the city Debaltsevo, Donetsk region.
On 4 March, 2015, the soldier Horbenko died during the rotation of the personnel as a result of the firing of an infantry fighting vehicle (BMP) at the platoon point of the Pavlo-30 near the town of Luhans‘ke, Artemivsk (now - Bakhmut) district, Donetsk region. He was identified among the dead soldiers due to DNA testing.
On 6 May, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the village Stadnitsa, Tetyivsk district, Kyiv region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (22.09.2015; posthumously).
The mother, the wife and three children are left.
In the village Stadnitsa on the building of a secondary school ( Shkylnaya Street, 1), where Roman Horbenko studied, the memorial plaque was established.
