Horbenko Svyatoslav Serhiyovych was the soldier 1st assault companies of the 5th Battalion Volunteer Corps Ukrainian "Right Sector".
He was born on 26 December, 1994 in Poltava. In 2010 he graduated Poltava multidisciplinary lyceum №1 named after Kotliarevsky. From 2010 he studied at Kharkiv National Pedagogical University named after Gregoriy Skovorody and correspondence to historical faculty of the Kharkiv National University named after Karazin. In 2014 he graduated the military department at Guards Order of Red Star military training faculty behalf of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine National Technical University ‘Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute‘.
In winter 2013-2014 years he participated in the Revolution of dignity, active member of the Kharkiv euromaidan.
In April 2014 at the urging of his father, for reasons of threats and harassment of the then pro-government guerrillas and members of Maidan Self Defense Kharkiv he was transferred to the 3rd course of the speciality "Japanese language and literature, foreign language" Institute of Philology of Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko.
In August 2014 a volunteer joined the volunteer corps Ukrainian "Right Sector", he was a soldier of the 1st Assault mouths 5th Battalion. He passed the military training in 169 training center Guards Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0665, urban village Desna Kozelets district, Chernihiv region). He had a name "Skel‘d."
Since September 2014 he took part in anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He took part in the battle for Donetsk airport.
On 3 October , 2014, during the battle for Donetsk airport, Svyatoslav Gorbenko with another sister brought the wounded from the area of injury. Saving another brother injured as a result of shoot dance in the old terminal mines Gorbenko was pulled deadly shrapnel injury to the carotid artery because of the fragment of fighter tank, and injury to hands and feet. Sworn brothers tried to save "Skeld", giving him first aid, but their efforts were in vain. Svyatoslav Gorbenko died of wounds.
On 9 October, 2014 he was buried in the cemetery "Berkovets" in Kiev.
The parents and sister are left.
On 22 May, 2015 on the facade of the building Poltava city multidisciplinary lyceum №1 named after Kotliarevsky (Shevchenko street, 14), where Svyatoslav Gorbenko studied, the memorial plaque was established. In April 2015 the audience was named after his name in the Institute of Philology of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, which is inserted near the memorial stand. Institute of Philology also established a special scholarship named after Svyatoslav Gorbenko, which will award the japaneze experts students for success in education and active participation in public life.
