Hrytsan Andriy Volodymyrovych was the shooter of the 9th airmobile company of the 3rd airmobile battalion of the 80th separate aerospace Order of the Red Star of the Brigade of the High-Military Allied Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a soldier.
He was born on 6 September, 1991 in the village Velyki Didushichi, Stryi district, Lviv region. In 2009, he graduated the 9th grade of the secondary school of the village of Velikiy Didushichi, in 2011 - Stryi higher vocational school.
In 2011-2012 he was in the regular military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served as sniper of the 169th Training Center of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A3907, a settlement of the urban type Desna, Kozeletsk district, Chernihiv region).
Since 2013, he has been working as the machine operator at the plant of Leoni Vairing Systems UA GmbH in Lvov Oblast, Stryi.
In August 2014, he was mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The service was held in the 80th separate Aeromobile Order of the Red Star of the Regiment of the High-Military Allied Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0284, the city Lviv).
In the autumn of 2014, he participated in an anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Captive Caption. From January 12, 2015, he was in the new terminal of Donetsk International Airport, where he directly participated in the defense of the airport.
On 20 January, 2015, Grytsan‘s soldier disappeared after the blast by Russian-terrorist groups of the second floor of the new terminal of the Donetsk International Airport. On July 2, 2015, the body of Andriy Hrytsan was identified through the DNA testing.
On 8 July, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the village Velyki Didushichi, Stryi district.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (22.09.2015; posthumously), a non-state award - the Order of "People‘s Hero of Ukraine" (03.12.2016, posthumously).
On November 1, 2015, in the village Velikiy Didushichi, Stryi district, on the facade of the building of a comprehensive school (155 Goshivska Street), where Andriy Hrytsan studied, the bas-relief was established.
