Ihnatov Oleksandr Mykolayovych was the mechanic-driver of the platoon of the 53rd individual mechanized brigade of the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a soldier.
He was born on 25 June, 1993 in Volodymyrivka village, Kazankivsky district, Mykolaiv region. He lived in the city of Krivyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 2009, he graduated the 9th forms of the secondary school №26 of the city of Kryvyi Rih, in 2012 - the Center for training and retraining of the workers‘ personnel №1 of the city of Kryvyi Rih, specializing in bulldozer, scraper, grader machinist.
In 2012-2013, there was regular military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 169th Training Center of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0665, urban settlement of the Desna, Koselets district, Chernihiv region).
He worked as an excavator engineer at the city Kryvyi Rih.
On 14 August, 2014 he was mobilized into the armed forces of Ukraine. He served as a mechanic-driver of a demolition platoon of the 53rd individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit of V0927, the city of Severodonetsk / Lisichansk, Luhansk region).
In the autumn of 2014, he participated in an anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On May 23, 2015, soldier Ihnatov was seriously wounded by a sniper in the head near the village Stanitsa, Luhansk, Luhansk region. The serviceman was taken to a hospital in the city Kiev, where doctors fought for his life, but their efforts proved to be in vain. On 16 August, 2015, soldier Ihnatov died of injuries.
On 20 August, 2015 he was buried on the Alley of Glory of the Central Cemetery of Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (16.01.2016; posthumously).
On 22 March, 2016, the memorial sign to students who died in an antiterrorist operation in eastern Ukraine, including the name of Olexandr Ihnatov, was established in the city of Kryvyi Rih at the Center for Training and Retraining of Workers‘ Personnel No.1 (Kakhovska Street,13 ). On 22 April, 2016, in the city of Kryvyi Rih, the memorial plaque was established on the building of secondary school №26 (Volodymyr Bisovay Street, 7a), where Olexandr Ihnatov studied.
