Ivashchenko Valeriy Volodymyrovych was the machine gunner of the 30th individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, senior soldier.
He was born on 10 October, 1992 in the village Gorodishche, Chudnivsk district, Zhytomyr region. In 2008, he graduated the 9th forms of the secondary school of the village Tyutyunniki, Chudnivsk district, in 2011 - vocational school №30 of Turchynivka village, Chudnivsk district, specializing as the tractor driver-machinist.
He passed the regular military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 95th separate aeromobile brigade of the High-Military Allied Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (now - 95th separate assault and assault brigade, military unit A0281, city Zhytomyr).
On 26 March, 2014 he was mobilized into the Armed forces of Ukraine. He served as a machine gunner of the 30th individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, the city Novograd-Volyn, Zhytomyr region).
From spring-summer 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 11 July, 2014, the unit, which included the senior soldier Ivashchenko, cleared the military camp near the city Aleksandrivsk, of the Luhansk city council, where there was a base of terrorists. During a mortar shelling, the soldier received a deadly fragmentary injury to the neck from which he died.
On 15 July, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village Gorodische, Chudnivsk district, Zhytomyr region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III class (14.11.2014; posthumously).
The mother and two brothers are left.
On 27 January, 2015 in the village Tyutyunniki on the building of a secondary school ( Shkilna street, 1) and on 4 February, 2015 in the village Turchynivka in the building of the vocational school №30 ( Zhytomyrskaya Street,6), where Valeriy Ivashchenko studied, the memorial plaque was established.
