Kartalysh Viktor Mykolayovych was the resident of the medical company of the 30th individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He was born on 16 June, 1963 in the city Olexandria, Kirovograd region. He graduated the secondary school №2 named after Maxim Gorkiy in Olexandria, in 1986 - the Dnepropetrovsk Medical Institute.
He worked as a phthisiologist at the Olexandria Anti-TB Dispensary, then an anesthetist in the intensive care unit at the Olexandria District Hospital. In recent years, he served as a therapist at the Petrovsky Correctional No 49 (Novy Starodub Village, Petrovsk District, Kirovograd Region).
In April 2015, the Olexandrian United Military Commissariat of Kirovograd Oblast mobilized him into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He passed the training courses for a military doctor. He served as a resident medical officer of the 30th individual mechanized brigade of the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, Novograd-Volyn city, Zhytomyr region).
From summer to autumn, 2015, he participated in an anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He provided the first medical aid to the military. In October, 2015, he received the concussion, was treated at the Kirovohrad Military Hospital and returned to the front again.
At the front, Kartalysh Viktor caught a cold, but suffering the disease on his legs, which further complicated. The treatment started too late. In early April 2016, a serviceman was sent to the Lviv Military Hospital in critical condition, but his doctors failed to save him. On 4 April, 2016 Kartalysh Viktor died of the cirrhosis pneumonia.
On 7 April, 2016 he was buried in the Verbolozovsky cemetery of the city Olexandria.
