Konovalov Alexey was the commander of the 2nd Platoon Infantry rifle company of the 13th battalion of territorial defense Chernihiv Oblast ‘Chernihiv-1 ", the captain.
He was born in January 31, 1970 in the Russian Federation. He lived in the city Togliatti, Samara Region (Russian Federation). In 1983 he moved with his family to the city Chernigiv. He studied the secondary schools №9 and №15 of Chernihiv. He graduated the high school №15 (now - gymnasium №15) of Chernihiv. He studied at the vocational school №5 Chernihiv (now - Chernihiv professional college of railway transport).
Since 1988, he was in the Armed Forces of the USSR / Ukraine. In 1992 he graduated Kiev Higher Military Aviation Engineering School in the speciality "Engineer of telecommunications." He served in the Air Forces of Ukraine, including in the military unit in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Since the 2000s, Captain O. I. Konovalov was in stock.
He lived in Chernigiv. He worked in the field of automation plants, was an entrepreneur. He went to work in Poland.
In winter 2013-2014 years he actively participated in the Revolution of dignity at the Independence Square in Kiev, he was the deputy captain of Chernigiv hundred of Maydan. He was a member of staff of the Chernihiv Oblast "People‘s Self-Defense", a member of the Chernihiv regional organization of Ukrainian Union "Freedom". After the Russian aggression in Crimea he participated in equipping the block-posts near Chernihiv, helped to repair Ukrainian military equipment.
In April 24, 2014 Chernihiv joint military commissariat mobilized him into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as commander of the 2nd Infantry platoon rifle company of the 13th battalion of territorial defense Chernihiv Oblast ‘Chernihiv 1 "(military unit field mail V2278, November 2014 - 13th separate mechanized infantry battalion of the 1st Tank Brigade of the 8th Army Corps Land Force of Ukraine).
Since May 2014 he took part in anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He managed the troops on checkpoint near the village Velika Chernigivka Stanichno-Lugansk district, Luhansk region. In the battle with separatists he was stabbed in the leg.
In June 12, 2014 Captain Konovalov died due to an accident, received the electric shock during the electric wiring leading (according Chernihiv Regional State Administration, he was killed in the village of Verhnya Bogdanivka, Belovodsk district, Luhansk region).
In June 16, 2014 he was buried in the cemetery "Yatsevo" in Chernihiv.
He was awarded the Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky III degree (21.3.2016, posthumously).

In September 1, 2014 in Chernihiv on the facade of the building lyceum №15 (Cossack Street, 10), where Alexey Konovalov studied, the memorial plaque was opened.
