Yevhenii Kravchenko served as a Combat Vehicle Commander and Squad Commander in the 13th Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion of the 1st Separate Guards Tank Brigade , Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, holding the rank of Junior Sergeant.
He was born on September 13, 1991, in Chernihiv. In 2006, he completed the 9th grade at Secondary School No. 34 in Chernihiv, and in 2009, he graduated from the Chernihiv Professional Construction Lyceum, earning a qualification as an electric and gas welder.
Served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In April 2015, Yevhenii Kravchenko was conscripted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 13th Territorial Defense Battalion “Chernihiv-1” (which, in November 2014, had been reorganized into the 13th Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion and integrated into the 1st Separate Guards Tank Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military unit field mail B2278).
Since May – June 2014, he has been participating in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He also took part in the battles for Debaltseve in the Donetsk Region.
On January 31, 2015, Junior Sergeant Kravchenko was wounded in both legs during the battle for Checkpoint 1302 near Vuhlehirsk, Artemivsk (now Bakhmut) district, Donetsk region. While being evacuated to the Central District Hospital in Artemivsk (now Bakhmut), he died from significant blood loss.
On February 5, 2015, he was laid to rest at the Yatsevo Cemetery in Chernihiv.
On October 13, 2015, a memorial plaque honoring graduates who died during the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine — including Yevhenii Kravchenko — was unveiled on the facade of the Chernihiv Professional Construction Lyceum (247 Myru Avenue) in Chernihiv. In September 2016, another memorial plaque was unveiled on the facade of Secondary School No. 34 (27 Tekstylnykiv Street) in Chernihiv, where Yevhenii Kravchenko studied.
Yevhenii Kravchenko was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, Third Grade, on March 21, 2016.
He is survived by his parents.
