Kuts Hennadiy Volodymyrovych was the tank commander of the tank platoon of the tank company of the tank battalion of the 1 st Guards Tank Brigade of the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergeant.
He was born 2 June, 1991 in the city Chernihiv. He lived in the village Kovpyta, Chernihiv region, Chernihiv region. He graduated the secondary school named after the Hero of the Soviet Union, I.M.Grachov, from the village Kovpita and the Chernihiv Professional Construction Lyceum.
In the spring of 2011 he was called to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served under the contract by the tank commander of a tank platoon of a tank battalion of the 1st Specialized Guards Tank Brigade of the Army Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1815, settlement town of Goncharivske, Chernihiv district, Chernihiv region).
Since the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 18 August, 2014, during a bombing by separatists from the BM-21 "Grad" combat vehicle of Ukrainian positions near Lugansk, Sergeant Kuts received strong burns. He was evacuated to the hospital, where on 19 August, 2014, the soldier died of injuries.
On 22 August, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village Kovpyta, Chernihiv region, Chernihiv region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (10/31/2014; posthumously).

On 19 August, 2015, in the village Kovpita, at the building of the general school named after the Hero of the Soviet Union I.M.Grachov (Peremohy Street,78 ), where Gennadiy Kuts studied, the memorial plaque was established. On 13 October, 2015, a memory booth and a bust were established at the school in honor of the deceased serviceman.
On 13 October, 2015 in the city Chernihiv a memorial plaque was established on the facade of the building of the Chernihiv Professional Building Lyceum (Peace Avenue, 247) in honor of the six graduates who died in the area of the anti-terrorist operation, including the name of Gennadiy Kuts.
