Lazenko Serhiy Vasyl‘ovych was the chief sergeant of the 1st Panzer Platoon of the 2nd Panzer Company of the Tank Battalion of the 72nd Detached Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ensign.
He was born on 8 October 8, 1968, in the village Nova Dmitrievka, Zolotonosha district, Cherkassy region. He lived in the city Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky, Kyiv region. He graduated high school № 4 in the city Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky.
In 1986-1997 he was in military service in the Armed Forces (in 1986-1988 - a regular military service, since 1988 - an overtime military service). He graduated the school of ensigns. Prior to the withdrawal of troops he served in the Group of Soviet troops in Germany (German Democratic Republic). In 1997-2011, he worked as a fighter in the 27th State Fire and Rescue Section in the city of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky. Since 2011 - on retirement.
On 20 March, 2014 he was mobilized Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky united military commissariat to the armed forces of Ukraine. He served as the chief sergeant of the 1st Panzer Platoon of the 2nd Panzer Company of the tank battalion of the 72nd individual mechanized brigade of the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A2167, the city of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region).
From 2014 he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 26 July, 2014, Ensign Lazenko died during the artillery shelling of a platoon point in the district of the village of Grigorivka Amvrosievsky district of the Donetsk region.
On 30 July, 2014 he was buried at the Podvarsky cemetery in the city Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky, Kyiv region.
He was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III class (27.11.2014; posthumously).

On 21 August 21, 2015, in the city Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky, on the territory of the 27th State Fire and Rescue Section (70 Skovoroda Street), where Serhiy Lazenko worked, the memorial plaque was established. On 19 February, 2016, the street of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky was called after his name.
