Medved‘ Ihor Mykolayovych was the mechanic-driver of an infantry fighting vehicle (BMP) of the 53rd individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a soldier.
He was born on 7 February, 1974 in the village Slobidka, Novgorod-Siversk District, Chernihiv region. In 1979, with his family he moved to the city oPervomaysk Voroshilovgrad (now - Luhansk) region. In 1981-1984 he studied at the secondary school of Pervomaysk. In 1984, along with his family, he returned to the Novgorod-Siversk district, Chernihiv region. In 1989, he graduated the 8th form of a secondary school in the village Loska, Novgorod-Siversk District, in 1991 - a secondary school in the village Slobidka, Novgorod-Siversk District.
In 1992-1994 he was in the regular military service in the tank armies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Khmelnytsky region).
After the army he returned to the village Slobidka, Novgorod-Siversk district, Chernihiv region. He worked as a tractor operator at the state farm "Peremoha". Later he moved to the city Chernihiv. He worked as a driver of crawler transport in the Private Joint-Stock Company of Buidling Industry.(city Chernihiv).
On 7 July, 2015, Novgorod-Siversk District Military Commissariat of Chernihiv Oblast mobilized him into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a mechanic-driver of the infantry fighting vehicle (BMP) of the 53rd individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit В0927, the city of Severodonetsk / Lisichansk, Luhansk region).
Since 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 5 June, 2016, around 21:30, an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group attempted to traverse along the railway track near the Mayorsk station (the district of Gorlovka) in the direction of the city Toretsk, Donetsk region. The Ukrainian military, having identified the enemy, opened the fire to the defeat. Under cover of a 120-millimeter mortar, the saboteurs departed, but one of the mine mines got into an advanced observation post. As a result of the explosion, soldier Medved‘ died, and two more men were injured.
On 8 June, 2016 at the Yatsevo cemetery in the city Chernihiv.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III class (27.10.2016; posthumously).

On 13 October, 2016, in the village Slobidka, Novgorod-Siversk district of the Chernihiv region, the memorial plaque was established on the building of the secondary school, where Ihor Medved‘ studied.
