Mykhaylov Serhiy Petrovych was the commander of the radio division of the platoon of communication mechanized battalion of the 30th individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Senior sergeant.
He was born on 26 January, 1976 in the city Novograd-Volyn, Zhytomyr region. Russian. He graduated the secondary school No.7 of Novograd-Volyn city.
On 7 May, 1996, he was enlisted for the military service under the contract to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since 1996 he has served in the 30th Guards Tank Division (since 2003 - the 30th individual mechanized brigade) of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, the city Novograd-Volyn, Zhytomyr region), the last position - the commander of radio control division of the platoon mechanized battalion.
Since the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 3 September, 2014, Senior Sergeant Mykhaylov was seriously injured during his service in the area of the anti-terrorist operation. The same day the soldier was taken to a military hospital in the city Kharkiv with a diagnosis: an explosive trauma, closed craniocerebral trauma, concussion of the brain, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety. On 5 September, Serhiy Mykhaylov was transferred to the military hospital of the city of Kiev, from there on 6 September - to the military hospital of the city Zhytomyr. On 17 September, he was discharged from the hospital and sent for rehabilitation, but the next day, September 18, the soldier suddenly died.
On 19 September 19, 2014 was buried in the city cemetery of Novograd-Volynsky city, Zhytomyr region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (04.06.2015; posthumously).
On 13 October, 2015 in the city Novohrad-Volyn a memorial plaque was established in honor of the graduates who died during the antiterrorist operation in eastern Ukraine, including the name of Serhiy Mykhaylov, at the building of the secondary school №7 (Zhytomyrska Street, 124).
