Nikonov Pavlo Serhiyovich was the shooter-antiaircrafter of 25-th Dnepropetrovsk separate airborne brigade of highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, soldier.
He was Born in December 19, 1989 in Dnepropetrovsk (now - Dnipro). He graduated 9 years of secondary school №142 of Dnepropetrovsk, then - Dnipropetrovsk industrial college.
In 2010, he was drafted for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 25th Dnepropetrovsk separate airborne brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1126; urban village Hvardieske, Novomoskovsk district, Dnieper region). In 2011 he was dismissed from the Armed Forces of Ukraine in reserve.
In March 2014 he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 25th Dnepropetrovsk separate airborne brigade of highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1126; urban village Hvardieske, Novomoskovsk district, Dniepro region).
Since the summer of 2014 he took part in anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
In June 14, 2014 around 1:00 am, military transport aircraft IL-76 MD Air Forces of Ukraine, during the approach to the airfield Lugansk city, was hit by terrorists of portable anti-aircraft missile system. The plane had 40 soldiers of the 25 th Dnepropetrovsk separate airborne brigade, including soldier Nikonov and 9 crew members. As a result of the disaster, the entire personnel of troops and aircrew were killed.
In July 25, 2014 he was buried in the cemetery of the village Obuhivka, Dnepropetrovsk (now - Dniepro) region.
In the city of Dnepropetrovsk on the facade of the building of secondary school №142 (Zampolita Belyaev street, 2, opened December 11, 2014) and the house (Vysotsky street, 2), where Pavlo Nikonov studied and lived, the memorial plaque was established.
He was awarded the Order “For courage” of III degree (20.6.2014, posthumously).
