Sergei Panasyuk was the operator of antitank platoon of the 1st airborne assault battalion of the 95th separate airborne brigade of highly mobile airborne troops of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the senior soldier.
He was born on October 20, 1985 in Korostyshiv Zhytomyr region. He graduated Korostyshivsky professional agrarian lyceum in Korostyshiv, Zhytomyr region.
In March 2014 he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served operator antitank platoon of the 1st airborne assault battalion of the 95th separate airborne brigade of highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0281 Town Zhytomyr).
In the spring of 2014 he took part in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On May 2, 2014 around 22:15 hours during a combat mission blocking the column on the bridge over the River Suhiy Torets in the district of Andriyiyivka village on the southern outskirts of Slavyansk, Donetsk region on the side of militants, hiding behind civilians, had a fire which two soldiers were killed. One of them was a senior soldier Panasiuk, who died from a sniper bullet that aimed in the neck.
On May 5, 2014 he was buried in the cemetery in Korostyshiv, Zhytomyr region.
He was awarded the Order "For courage" of III degree (19.7.2014, posthumously).
