Pechunka Mykhaylo Serhiyovych was the machine gunner of the 4th platoon of the 30th individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, sergeant.
He was born on 28 October, 1977 in the city Khust, Transcarpathian region. He graduated the secondary school of Khust.
He passed the regular military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He worked as a security guard in Uzhgorod, Transcarpathian region.
In the winter of 2013-2014, he was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity, activist of the European Route of Crafts.
In 2014, the volunteer was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a machine gunner of the 30th individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, the city Novograd-Volyn, Zhytomyr region).
Since 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 6 February, 2015, Sergeant Pechunka died in a battle near the village Chervonyi Zhovten (now - Sotenne), Stanichno-Luhansk district, Luhansk region.
On 14 February 14, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the city Khust, Transcarpathian region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (05/25/2015; posthumously).

In March 2016, by order of the Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, a decision was made to rename Vatutin lane to the lane of Pechunka Mykhaylo in the city Khust.
