Pelekhatyy V‘yacheslav Maksymovych was the technician of the company 87 th separate airmobile battalion of the 80th separate airborne brigade of highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Senior Major.
He was born on 5 June, 1974 in the village Yarivka, Khotyn district, Chernivtsi region in the family of farmers. He graduated the high school of Yarivka village. He studied at Stavchany vocational school (now - Stavchany vocational school, village Stavchany, Khotyn district, Chernivtsi region).
In the early 1990s, he passed the military service in the border troops of Ukraine (Kerch city ARC). After completing military service he continued to contract the military service. He graduated the training center of engineering troops (Kamenetz-Podolsk City of Khmelnitsky region), received the title of "lieutenant". He served as head of the control of technological point of 300 th mechanized regiment (2003 - separate mechanized regiment) 13th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0264 city Chernivtsi), then - in the territorial center of recruitment of contract Chernivtsi regional military Commissariat (in 2011, the center was disbanded). In 2011, he returned to serve in the 300-th separate mechanized regiment (in 2013 the regiment was disbanded). From 2013 he served as a technician of the company 87 th separate airmobile battalion of the 80th separate airborne brigade of highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A2582, Chernivtsi city).
Since May 2014 he took part in anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 9 June, 2014 near the Donetsk region Slavyansk Senior Major Pelekhatyy V‘yacheslav was hit a stretch, resulting in the sustained severe injuries. He was taken to the military hospital of Kharkiv. All night the doctors were fighting for the life of a soldier, but their efforts were in vain. On the morning of 10 June, 2014 Senior Major Pelehatyy died of his wounds.
On 13 June, 2014 he was buried in the Alley of Glory of the central cemetery of Chernivtsi.
He was awarded the Order "For courage" III class (06/04/2015; posthumously) medals.
