Potiyenko Anatoliy Yuriyovych was the participant of the machine gun servicing of the mechanized company of the mechanized battalion of the 72nd individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a soldier.
He was born on 13 August, 1983 in the village Prideysnianske, Koropsky district, Chernihiv region in the family of the collective farmers. In 1998, he graduated a part-time secondary school in the village Horodyshche, Korop district. Since 1998, he has been working at the Druzhba Limited Liability Company in the village Pridesnianske.
In 2001-2002 he was in the regular military service in the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (Kyiv city).
After demobilization he returned to the village of Prideyshny. He worked in his native village. Since 2008 he has lived in the village Borshne, Prilutsky district, Chernihiv region. He worked as a freelance worker in a local farm, in the Gustinsky Holy Trinity Monastery, in the village‘s improvement, in a private peasant farm.
On 31 March, 2014, Koropsky District Military Commissariat was mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 1st Detached Guards Tank Brigade of the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1815, settlement town of Goncharivka Chernigov district of Chernihiv region), and then - the number of machine gun servicing of the mechanized company of the mechanized battalion of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade of the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ( Military unit A2167, city of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region).
From 23 August, 2014, he participated in an anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
He died on the night of January 7 to January 8, 2015, from a sniper ball during his alternation at the platoon-support point in the forest belt near the village Novohnativka in Volnovakha district, Donetsk region.
On 12 January, 2015 he was buried in the cemetery of the village Borshne, Prilutsky district, Chernihiv region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (01.03.2016; posthumously).
The wife, the daughter, the mother and the sister are left.
In the village Horodyshche, Koropsky district, Chernihiv region, in the premises of the former school, where Potiyenko Anatoliy studied, the memorial plaque was established.
