Romanchuk Anatoliy Mykhaylovych was the chief of intelligence of the 1st self-propelled artillery battery of howitzers artillery self-propelled division of the 72nd separate guards mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, captain.
He was born on 17 January, 1981 in the town Dunaevtsi, Khmelnytsky region. He lived in Zalistsi village of Dunaevetsky district of Khmelnytsky region. He graduated the secondary school in Zalistsi village.
In the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 1 August, 1999, he was called Dunaevetsky district military commissariat, Khmelnytsky region. In 2003 he graduated the military Two Red Banner Institute of Missile Forces and Artillery named after Bogdan Khmelnitsky, Sumy State University.
He served as the chief of intelligence of the 1st self-propelled artillery hoist self-propelled artillery battalion of the 72nd separate guards mechanized brigade of the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A2167, the city of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region).
From 2014 he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
In July 2014, Captain Romanchuk was seriously injured in an attempt to escape from the terrorists‘ surroundings on the border with Russia near the village Tarany, Shakhtarsky district, Donetsk region. The military car in which he was, fell into hostile ambush. The severely wounded officer was captured by militants. Captain Romanchuk was taken to the hospital in the city Snizhne, Donetsk region. The officer was operated. Doctors tried to save Captain Romanchenko, but their efforts proved to be in vain. On 27 July, 2014, the officer died of injuries.
On 6 August, 2014 he was buried in the cemetery of village Zalistsi, Dunaevetsky district, Khmelnytsky region.
He was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III class (09/29/2014, posthumously), with medals.
Honorary citizen of the city of Bila Tserkva (14.10.2014; posthumously) and Dunaevetsky district, Khmelnytsky region.
The parents, the wife and the son are left.
On 21 April, 2015, in the village Zalistsi, Anatoliy Romanchuk studied at the building of the educational complex "Secondary school of I-II levels - a preschool educational institution" (Anatoly Romanchuk street, 5), and the memorial plaque was established to him. A street in the village of Zalistsi is called after his name.
