Sahan Serhiy Ivanovych was the machine gunner of the 30th separate mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergeant.
He was born on 15 December, 1982, in the village Emilchin, Zhytomyr region. In 2000 he graduated the secondary school №1 of the village Emilchine, then - with honors Higher vocational school №17 of Zhytomyr city (now - Higher vocational school of Zhytomyr State Technological University) specializing in "electric welding station of telephone communication equipment".
He passed the regular military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
After the army, he returned to the village Emilchine. After the marriage in the fall of 2013, he moved to the city Korosten, Zhytomyr region. He worked as a carpenter of a group of the ongoing repair of the Korosten Garrison of the Zhytomyr housing and operational department in Korosten.
On 19 March, 2014 he was mobilized in the Armed forces of Ukraine. He served as the machine gunner of the 30th individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, the city Novograd-Volyn, Zhytomyr region).
Since the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He was the participant of fighting for the city Debaltsevo, Donetsk region.
On 17 February, 2015 Sergeant Sahan was killed during an artillery fire near the town Debaltsevo, Donetsk region.
On 23 February, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of Emilchine village, Zhytomyr region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (13.08.2015; posthumously).
The mother, two brothers and the wife are left.
On 1 September, 2015, in the village Emilchine, on the building of the general school №1 (Shevchenko str., 4), where Serhiy Sahan studied, the memorial plaque was established.
