Shchepans‘kyy Oleh Volodymyrovych was the firearm officer of the 30th separate guards mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a soldier.
He was born on 27 August, 1976 in the Komarivtsi village, Barsky district, Vinnytsia region. In 1991, he graduated the 8th form of a secondary school in the village Komarivka.
He passed the regular military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He worked as a worker at the Chernechny Limited Liability Company in the village Komarivka.
On 21 August, 2014, the Barsko-Murovanakurilovtsy united district military commissariat of Vinnytsia region mobilized him into the Armed forces of Ukraine. He served as an archer-sanitarian of the 30th separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409 (field post of V2731), Novograd-Volyn, Zhytomyr region).
Since January 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He was the participant of fighting for the city Debaltsevo, Donetsk region.
On 18 February, 2015, soldier Shchepans‘kyy, consisting of a column of Ukrainian troops, came from the city Debaltsevo, Donetsk region. During the release, the column fell under the artillery fire of the enemy. As a result of the shelling of soldiers, Shchepans‘kyy died. Since then, it was considered to be missing. He was identified by a civilian wife for scars and moles in the city of Dnipropetrovsk (now - the Dnieper) who died in the morgue.
On 27 February, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of Komarivtsi village, Barsky district, Vinnytsia region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (22.09.2015; posthumously).
The parents, the brother and the civilian wife are left.
On 1 September, 2015, in the village Komarivka, a memorial plaque was established on the building of the secondary school ( Oleh Shchepans‘kyy Street, 5), where he studied. In the village Komarivka, the street of Lenin was called after the name of Oleh Shchepans‘kyy Street.
