Shcherban‘ Mykhaylo Ivanovych was the deputy commander of the military machine - gunner operator 5th mechanized platoon of the 5th mechanized company of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion, 72 th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sgt.
He was born on 16 March, 1985 in the village Pilipcha, Bilotserkivsky district, Kiev region. In 2002 he graduated the secondary school of the village Pilipcha. After leaving school he worked as a laborer in the limited liability company "Pylypchanske", then - on private enterprise by Vdovyk V.P.
He was in the regular military service. Through military training in the 169 Guards training center Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0665, urban village Desna Kozelets district, Chernihiv region). He served in the military part of the Coast Guard of the Naval Forces of Ukraine.
In the spring of 2014 he was mobilized into the Belotserkovski joint municipal military commissariat of Kiev region to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as deputy commander of the military machine - gunner operator 5th mechanized platoon of the 5th mechanized company of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion, 72 th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A2167 city Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region).
From 2014 he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 9 August, 2014, Sergeant Shcherban‘ died during a combat task in the district of Rozivka village, Shakhtarsky district, Donetsk region.
He was buried in the cemetery of the village Pilipcha, Bilotserkivsky district, Kyiv region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III class (14.11.2014; posthumously).
Honorary citizen of the Bila Tserkva district, Kyiv region.
