Tymoshchuk Ivan Viktorovych was the machine gunner of the mechanized division of the mechanized platoon of the mechanized company of the 1st mechanized battalion of the 30th individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a soldier.
He was born on 23 September, 1988 in the city of Novograd-Volyn, Zhytomyr region. In 2003, he graduated the 9th forms of the secondary school №3 of the city Novograd-Volyn, in 2006 - 3 courses of the Novograd-Volyn industrial-economic college.
In 2006-2007 he was in the regular service in the ranks of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (now - the National Guard of Ukraine). He served in Lviv.
After the army returned to the city of Novograd-Volyn. He has repaired the cars, since 2009 he worked as a simulator at the Corsanit-Invest Limited Liability Company.
On 10 March, 2014, the Novograd-Volyn-Red Army Joint Municipal Commissioner of Zhytomyr region mobilized him into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a machine gunnerof the mechanized division of the mechanized platoon of the mechanized company of the 1st mechanized battalion of the 30th separate mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, the city of Novograd-Volyn, Zhytomyr region).
From March 2014, he served at the checkpoints in the Kherson region on the administrative border with the occupied Russian troops of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Since the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 28 July, 2014, soldier Tymoshchuk, as part of the brigade unit, performed a combat task for taking the strategically important height oSavur-Mohyla (Shakhtarsk district, Donetsk region). During search-and-shock operations in the area of the village Stepanivka, Shakhtarsk district, Donetsk region, Ukrainian servicemen were subjected to hostile shelling, resulting in the death of John Timoshchuk.
On 2 August, 2014 he was buried in the cemetery of the village Susli, Novograd-Volyn district, Zhytomyr region.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (05/15/2015; posthumously).

On 15 September, 2015, in the city of Novohrad-Volyn, a memorial plaque was established on the building of secondary school №3 (Sobornosti St., 54), where the Hero studied. From 2015 in the village Susli, Novograd-Volyn district, a football tournament "Heroes do not die" dedicated to the memory of Ivan Tymoshchuk and Aki Kambarov is held.
