Vityshyn Ivan Vasyl‘ovych was the soldier 122 th separate airmobile battalion 81 th separate airborne brigade of highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergeant.
He was born on 14 September, 1976 in the village Velyka Luka, Ternopil district, Ternopil region. He graduated the 9th forms of the secondary school № 8 of the city of Ternopil, then - Ternopil higher vocational school number 4 named after Mikhail Paraschuk.
He passed the regular military service in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine (on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea).
In August 2014, he was mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 122nd separate airmobile battalion of the 80th separate aeromobile brigade of the High-Military Allied Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (from the autumn of 2014 - the 122nd separate airmobile battalion is a member of the 81st separate aeromobile brigade of the High-Volunteer Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; the military unit Field post, V2250, city of Konstantinovka, Donetsk region).
Since November 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.
On 20 January, 2015 in the defense of the International airport "Donetsk" Ivan Vityshyn was under the rubble, as a result of undermining Russian-terrorist groups of the second floor of the new airport terminal. On 21 January, 2015, staying under the rubble, Senior Sergeant Vityshyn died of the injuries.
On 19 February, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the village Velyka Luka, Ternopil region.
On 5 July, 2015 in the village Velyka Berezovytsya, Ternopil region on the facade of the building where he lived, and on 14 September, 2015 in Ternopil on the facade of the building of secondary school number 8 ( School Street, 2), where Ivan Vityshyn studied, the memorial plaque was established.
He was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd class (05/25/2015; posthumously), the Order of "People‘s Hero of Ukraine" (15 January, 2016; posthumously).
