Yarovyy Mykyta Oleksandrovych was the commander of the 3rd mechanized company of the 1st mechanized battalion of the 54th individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant.
He was born on 2 February, 1995 in the village Melioratyvne, Novomoskovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 2010, he graduated the 9th form of the Collegium №11 of the city Novomoskovsk, Dnipropetrovsk region, in 2012 - the Zaporizhzhya Regional Lyceum with the enhanced military-physical training "Defender".
Since 2012 he was in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In February 2016 he graduated the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachniy (Lviv city). From 2016 he served the military service in the 54th individual mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military part of field post V2970, city Bakhmut, Donetsk region).
From April 2016 he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Callsign "Shaitan".
On 18 December, 2016, starting from 05:50 pm, Russian-terrorist groups began the firing training, with the use of the large-caliber artillery and mortars, from 5:50 pm in the Svitlodarskaya arc region, at the positions of the platoon reference points of the 1st mechanized battalion of the 54th individual mechanized brigade. After that, around 9:00 pm, the enemy attempted to break the positions of the 1st mechanized battalion from the forest at the flank of the 2nd mechanized company.
In about an hour, the maneuvering group of the 3rd mechanized company, consisting of a mechanized platoon headed by Lieutenant Mykyta Yarovyy, made an exit through the positions of the 1st mechanized company, covering the forest band, and entered the flank of the enemy. The group, under the direction of Lieutenant Yarovyy, was tasked with assuming positions of the front edge of the enemy in order to cut off the possibility of leaving the enemy group and prevent the enemy from leaving the reserves for help to their units.
An hour later the group went out to a certain point, where it tried to consolidate and hold busy positions, but was hit on three sides by firing from small arms and artillery. During the battle, covering the group‘s departure, Lieutenant Yarovyy died from a sniper‘s ball near the city Svitlodarsk in the Bakhmut district, Donetsk region.
The personnel of the maneuvering group headed by Mykyta Yarovyy, due to manifestations of courage and heroism, fulfilled the task of the destroying the enemy sabotage group and preventing the enemy from leaving the reserves.
On 27 December, 2016, he was buried in the cemetery of the village Melioratyvne, Novomoskovsk district.
By decree of the President of Ukraine No.581 / 2016 dated December 30, 2016, for the exceptional courage and heroism found in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to military oath to lieutenant Yarovyy Mykyta Olexandrovych was posthumously awarded the title Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Golden Star.
