Zubkov Ivan Ivanovych was the deputy of the commander of the company fire support for work with the personnel of the 90th separate airmobile battalion of the 81st separate aeromobile brigade of the High-Ambulance Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant.
He was born on 1 November, 1973 in Derazhnya, Khmelnytskiy region. Before 1987 he studied at secondary school No. 2 in Derazhnya. In 1991 he finished the secondary school №3 of the city Derazhnya.
Since 1991 he was in the Armed Forces of the USSR / Ukraine. In 1991 he entered the Lviv Highest Military-Political Order of the Red Star College. After the liquidation, he continued his studies at the Kiev Higher Naval School, which graduated in 1995. Of the 32 graduates, only five have received a military oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine, including Lieutenant Zubkov.
In 1995-1998 he served in the 19th missile of the Zaporozhya Red Army Orders of the Suvorov and Kutuzov Divisions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (now - 19th separate rocket brigade, military unit 33874, the city of Khmelnytsky). In 1998, he was released from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
After the dismissal from military service for some time he worked as a commercial director of one of the enterprises of the city of Khmelnytskiy, then - a private entrepreneur.
In the winter of 2013-2014 he was on the Independence Square in Kyiv, where he was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity.
In August 2014, as a volunteer, he was mobilized into the Armed forces of Ukraine. Served in the 90th separate airmobile battalion of the 95th separate aeromobile brigade of the High-Military Allied Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (from the autumn of 2014 - the 90th separate aeromobile battalion is a member of the 81st separate aeromobile brigade of the High-Volunteer Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; the military unit field post office in 1611, the city Konstantinivka, Donetsk region).
Since November 2014, he participated in an anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Callsign "Krab". He was the participant of the Defense of Donetsk International Airport. From 28 December, 2014, during a ten-day vacation, he stayed at home in the city Khmelnitskiy, after which he immediately returned to the area of the anti-terrorist operation.
On 18 January, 2015, he participated in the operation to unblock units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which defended the Donetsk airport. Confident actions and skilful leadership of the subordinate personnel ensured a breakthrough in the position of terrorists, which allowed the new unit to be put back to the new terminal to reinforce the defense of Donetsk International Airport.
In the course of an offensive by the Russian-terrorist groups at the airport, which led them to consolidate into a certain part of it, Senior Lieutenant Zubkov organized a counteroffensive and ensured the restoration of control over the new terminal. He organized the evacuation of the wounded from the new terminal of the Donetsk airport.
On 19 January, 2015, during the battles at the Donetsk airport, he was injured, but continued to operate the defense of a new terminal with the weapons in his hands.
On 20 January, 2015, Senior Lieutenant Zubkov, covering the detachment of the unit, died under the rubble as a result of subversion by the Russian-terrorist groups of the second floor of the International Airport "Donetsk". Since then, he was considered missing to be missing. Only in April 2015, the body of Ivan Zubkov was identified through the DNA testing.
On 30 April, 2015 he was buried in the cemetery of the city Derazhnya, Khmelnytskiy region.
According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 318/2015 dated June 9, 2015, for the extraordinary courage, heroism and self-sacrifice, revealed in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state, loyalty to the military oath to the senior lieutenant Zubkov Ivan Ivanovich was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the "Golden Star" (posthumously).
In the city of Kiev, on the territory of the National University of Defense named after Ivan Chernyakhovsky (Povitroflotskiy avenue, 28), a stella was established for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which was awarded the title "Hero of Ukraine", among them the name Ivan Zubkov was.
On 22 July, 2015, the decision of the Derazhnya Rayon Council in the city of Derazhnya secondary school №3 was called after the name of Hero of Ukraine Ivan Zubkov.
In the city of Derazhnya, on 1 September, 2015, on the facade of the building of the secondary school №3 (Zavodskaya street, 2) and on 1 March, 2016, on the facade of the building of the secondary school №2 (Lesya Ukraynka Street, 9), where the Hero of Ukraine Ivan Zubkov studied, the memorial boards were established.
According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine No729 / 2015 dated December 30, 2015, the 90th separate airmobile battalion of the 81st separate aeromobile brigade of the Highly-Freelian Allied Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was named after the Hero of Ukraine Senior Lieutenant Ivan Zubkov.
In October 2016, Ukrposhta continued issuing a series of artistic labeled envelopes called "Heroes of Glory!", which was launched in December 2014 until the day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Defense and the National Guard of Ukraine. One of the envelopes depicts the Hero of Ukraine Senior Lieutenant Ivan Zubkov.
Honorary citizen of the city of Derazhnya (22.06.2015; posthumously), settlement of the urban type Letichiv, Khmelnytskiy region (20.08.2015; posthumously), the city Khmelnytskiy (26.10.2016, posthumously).
On 6 January, 2016, in the village of the city Letichiv, Khmelnytskiy region, according to the decision of the session of the Letychiv settlement council, renamed Frunze street was called after the name of Ivan Zubkov. On May 25, 2016, in the city of Derazhnya, Khmelnitskiy region, the decision of the session of the Derazhnya City Council, the International Street was called after the name of Ivan Zubkov.
He was awarded the Order of the "Golden Star" (09/06/2015; posthumously) and a non-state award - the Order of "People‘s Hero of Ukraine" (01.10.2016; posthumously).
